Skanska breaks ground on Reedy Creek Elementary School in Kissimmee, Florida

Skanska, a leading construction firm, has signed a $47 million contract with the School District of Osceola County to reconstruct Reedy Creek Elementary School in Kissimmee, Florida. This multi-phased K-5 project will include demolishing portions of the existing school campus, constructing a new 96,000-square-foot academic center, renovating the remaining buildings, and completing a full site redevelopment including the relocation of the sports and playing fields within the school property.

Once completed, the school will accommodate nearly 950 students from Pre-K to 5th grade and enhance both academic and recreational environments.

Phase one consists of constructing the new academic space and reconstructing the existing building. Phase two encompasses the demolition of the current academic building and the relocation of the play fields and associated outdoor structures.

Additionally, the project will incorporate modern furniture, fixtures, and equipment to align with contemporary teaching methodologies,” said Dr. Mark Shanoff, Superintendent of the Osceola School District

Construction of the new academic building is currently underway and will be completed in July 2026. The reconstruction of the existing building will begin in June 2025 and finish in July 2026. Phase two will start in July 2026 and be completed in September 2026.
